YORK, PA – The Democratic Party of York County released the following statement today endorsing York City Mayor Kim Bracey for Re-Election in November:
We, the Democratic Party of York County, are proud to announce our full endorsement and recognition of the voters of York City and their decision to elect Mayor C. Kim Bracey as the Democratic Nominee for the Mayor of York City. We believe the Mayor’s list of accomplishments since taking office are only but a small example of the compassion and leadership she has brought to York City, as well as to York County as a whole. In her two-terms since taking office, she has made York City a vibrant place to live, work and play.
Mayor Bracey has led the efforts to reduce crime in York City and has done so by an astounding 31% citywide. Through various crime reduction and safety initiatives introduced since taking office, the Mayor continues to focus on the safety and well-being of York City residents
Bracey’s enduring spirit as a champion for the people of York has served as an inspiration to the young and old alike in York City. Through her efforts to revitalize York City through millions of dollars of development, bringing small businesses in to the community, as well as bolstering arts and entertainment venues and cultural and recreational activities for residents is just some examples of her continued community outreach.
The Mayor has been a steadfast supporter of the city’s children, as well as their education. Through programs like MentorYork and various mentoring programs, the Mayor has engaged teens and children in the community and has helped develop them in to civic-minded individuals who have or will become fully contributing members of York City’s successes.
Mayor Bracey is a candidate of character, strength and experience. There is no question to how strong of a leader she will be as she has already proven to be an amazing advocate for York City and its residents. The Mayor has never abandoned her beliefs and ideals for self-gain. Her leadership has been laser focused on one thing only…the people of York City. Mayor Bracey has proven to be candidate of high moral standards and she has never lost focus of her hometown. She represents what is good, decent and honest in York City and continues to spread these values through the examples she creates and through her steadfast leadership.
